Rhiw 2

Rhiw 2. The first was scrapped due to all sorts of reasons and the Mk 2 went though an endless planning mill before ending up the same as M1 albeit 18" shorter.

South Wales valleys late 1970s into the 1980s. All memorable stuff, run down, grubby and almost abandoned by the powers that control things. It is much changed now and this is a small slice of how it used to be.

The simple rationalised track plan; the old station demolished and the new 'efficient' platform/shelter in its place 1/4 mile further down the line.

MDF boards, Peco code 75 track and lots of Wills sheet. Mostly Bachmann and kit built stock and an increasing amount of Lima, much of which is as old as the period that the layout represents.

Rhiw is available for exhibitions.
